Kande River Water Quality Monitoring
Kande River's watershed begins in the Viphaya Mountains and ends in Lake Malawi. "Kande" means "rich soil" in the local chitonga language and the river is a vital source of water for local people living near it.  Find below graphs displaying some of the indicators we collect from the river.  We collect from four different sites, see below for descriptions of each site.  The graphs are interactive and updated weekly with new data points.  Following along in real time to learn about Kande River and join in our discoveries.  You will notice the gaps in our data sets.  The Maru is a community-run research center and relies on interns and volunteers collect our data under the guidance of our staff.  We encourage you to get involved!
